My first semester is going to be a pretty easy one. I only have two actual classes (English and Math, ew) and then three theater classes. I'm also really excited though because Monday through Thursday I'm done with classes by 12:15. It's glorious. And then on Friday I have one that's 2-5 but that's theater production stuff so it's what I would want to be doing in my free time anyways. It's really quite wonderful.
It's weird to think that I'm officially a college student now. I feel like I shouldn't be this old already. I had new student orientation on the 28th and the campus is beautiful and all the people are crazy nice and helpful.
First tip of the blog. Don't be afraid to ask for help at orientation. All the people there are there to help you prepare yourself and find your way. I get it. Asking for help is sometimes scary and a little intimidating. Not to mention a hit on your pride. But if I hadn't asked for help I would've been so lost and not as ready for college as I am now.
Second tip. Try and make friends with at least one adult (and by adult, I mean more adultier than you) on campus. It eases some of the stress knowing that you have an adultier adult to help you and can answer any questions. That and it's so much easier to talk to friends than it is scary adults right?
Third tip. Talk to students that have gone there. Chances are you have some sort of student ambassadors on campus. Talk to them. Ask them questions. Did you live on campus? If so, which residence hall? What did you like about it? What didn't you like about it? What did you do in your spare time? Etc. It helps you get a feel of what you're getting yourself into before you actually get yourself into it.
Fourth. Check out the college store they have on campus. There should be some sort of book store or or something like that there on campus. Or around campus. Check out what kind of things they sell. Normally they'll have snack foods, books, merchandise, and even school stuff. Check prices. See what you can and can't get there. I kept hearing that I needed a flash drive. I was trying to figure out where to get one when I saw that I could just buy one at the store. Very convenient!

Week one went great! I made great friends, love all my classes, my teachers are fantastic, and I've even started my first load of laundry for college! Goals?
I've gotten all my homework done so I'm completely free as well.
College, so far anyways, hasn't been all that stressful. The teachers are all laid back and we even get to call them by their first names if we wish. I still haven't adjusted to that part yet so currently I haven't. Except for Keith. Keith is the theater teacher and I see him at least once everyday so I feel pretty ok with calling him Keith.
